In the course of January-March 2010 the Verkhovna Rada received 8255 propositions, appeals, applications and complains regarding the issues on legitimacy, law and order obligation, implementation of the rights and liberties of the citizens. It comprises 33,5% from the total parliamentary mail. It was announced by the Citizens' Applications Office by The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate.
During the first quarter of the current year more then 24 363 propositions, appeals, applications and complains of the citizens were directed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that is in 268 tomes more than during the previous year.
As in previous period, the great quantity of appeals concerns the social problems. Thus from the beginning of the current year 3533 appeal on the social issues were directed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
In the course of the first quarter of the current year 3153 propositions of the citizens regarding the finance, taxation and customs policy were directed to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, that is in 890 times more than during the same period of the previous year.
For the period January-March 2009 increased the quantity of citizens´ responses to the activity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine, and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in comparison with the same period of 2009. In the majority of letters the citizens express for the efficient and coordinated work of all the branches of power.
During January-March 2010the Parliament received 1090 appeals on the activity of citizens unions and interconfessional relations. It is in 700 more than during 2009.
After the lections of the President of Ukraine increased the quantity of propositions, appeals, applications and complains of the citizens regarding the issues of the state building and administrative and territorial division of Ukraine.
In the first quarter of 2010 increase also the quantity of propositions, appeals, applications and complains of the citizens regarding the public health problems. During January-March 2010the Parliament received 978 appeals and complains regarding the issue that is in 279 tomes more than during the corresponding period of the last year.
In the propositions, appeals, applications and complains of the citizens ream actual the issues on labour and wages 878 appeals; agrarian policy and land relations 593; public-utility service 533; educational, scientific, scientific-technical and innovational activity and intellectual property 299; economic, price, investment, foreign economic and regional policy, building and entrepreneurship 238; activity of the local self-government bodies 188.
All the appeals of the citizens of Ukraine are scrutinized according to the effective legislation of the state and were sent for the solution of the problems raised in them to the relevant bodies of the state power, local self-government bodies, prosecutor´s office and court. Appeals on the improvement of the effective legislation were scrutinized by the Parliamentary Committees. Analytical materials and conclusions were directed to the leaders of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Parliamentary Committees, Deputies Factions and People´s Deputies of Ukraine for their implementation in the course of the legislative activity.
